Meet your mental health team

Winelands Wellness is an independent, integrated mental health practice built on the understanding that meaningful psychological care requires both clinical depth and real-world application. Our team works closely and collaboratively, bringing distinct professional disciplines into active dialogue to support individuals, families, and organisations across the lifespan.

Psychiatry

At the psychiatric core of the practice are Dr Juan-Mari Kruger and Dr Jozef Breedt, Specialist Psychiatrists whose combined experience spans public-sector psychiatry, private practice, forensic and neuropsychiatric work, child and adolescent services, substance use treatment, and complex adult presentations. Their work is grounded in careful diagnostic reasoning, advanced psychological formulation, and a shared commitment to longitudinal, developmentally informed care. Rather than reducing distress to isolated symptoms, they work with pattern, context, and meaning over time, in close collaboration with the broader team.

Psychology

Psychological services at Winelands Wellness are provided by Karen Walton, Psychologist, whose work spans counselling psychology and neuropsychological practice. Karen brings a collaborative, ethically grounded approach that recognises psychological care as a nuanced, relational process rather than a standardised intervention. With specialised training in substance use disorders, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and equine-assisted therapeutic approaches, her work balances evidence-based structure with responsiveness to the individual’s lived context.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy services at Winelands Wellness are delivered in collaboration with Mondia Health through Simone Jordaan, an Occupational Therapist and mental health professional based within Mondia Health. Simone provides on-site occupational therapy services at Winelands Wellness as part of the Mondia Health collaboration, focusing on the interface between psychological health and everyday functioning, including work capacity, role performance, identity, and sustainable recovery. Her background in mental health programme development, rehabilitation, and hospital-level service delivery within specialised psychiatric settings informs a structured, systems-aware approach to functional assessment and intervention.

Social Work

Social work and programme coordination are led by Shelby Silk, Social Worker, whose role supports individuals, families, and systems surrounding the patient. She works closely with families, schools, and community structures to help translate clinical recommendations into practical, coordinated support beyond the consulting room.

Psychometric Assessment

Psychometric assessment within the practice is provided by Yeshneel Nundcoomar, Psychometrist, who forms part of the integrated assessment team. He works across cognitive, neuropsychological screening, psycho-educational, personality, career, and medico-legal assessments, contributing careful, ethically rigorous measurement that informs integrated reporting, diagnostic formulation, and treatment planning.
